Oklahoma City’s Scott Spradling Racks Up a 9-0 Record for ITO Pro Title
The 2026 MCA Series Tour kicked off over this past Memorial Day Weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the 2026 Indian Territory Open (ITO). Hosted by the Tulsa Croquet Club at Lafortune Park, the American Rules event ran Friday through Monday (May 22-26) with heavy rain featured on both Friday and Saturday.
In the end, it was Scott Spradling from the ScissorTail Croquet Club (STCC) who captured the Pro title in Championship Flight with a 15-13 win over Dylan Goodwin (Kansas City Croquet Club) in the final, to go a perfect 9-0 in the event. In the Gold Division (First Flight), Carl Archiniaco (STCC) claimed the top spot by defeating Art Parsells (Tulsa Croquet Club) 26-16 in the championship game. Archiniaco was 7-1 overall with his only loss coming from Parsells in block play.
The ITO had eight players in the Pro (Championship) division and seven total that participated in the Gold (First Flight) with Bob Baker (TCC) and Evan Rogers (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) splitting time in the division to fill in for a late withdrawal.
The tournament also featured a Waterford Doubles event that saw Goodwin finish first with Spradling taking second place.
After the Saturday morning downpour, it was a major accomplishment to get all of the scheduled games in. The rain came right at starting time and quickly covered the courts. Players were actually sent home until noon. Upon return, the courts had shed the water, but certainly remained soggy and slow, but playable. Game times were adjusted to 60 minutes for doubles and most of the games scheduled were finished by the end of the day.
2026 CLUB SERIES RACE
As the host club, the Tulsa Croquet Club was automatically entered in the Mallet Series Club race, and despite missing out on the top spot of the podium in the three events, the club racked up 67 points total and now lead in all three categories — Overall, Pro and Gold. The Kansas City Croquet Club follows with 18 points in the Overall and Pro Division, but did not have any points in Gold. With the sold-out US Golf Croquet Classic on deck for June 12-14, seven more clubs will enter the Club Race
NEXT UP
The 2026 Mallet Series Tour continues June 12-14 with the U.S. Golf Croquet Classic in Denver, Colorado, where 24 players are set to play at Washington Park and the Denver Country Club. In October, the Series will visit Virginia as the North American Open GC event joins the 2026 Series. The tournament will be held at the Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club in Hartfield, Va., where players will enjoy playing on world class lawns at the 24-court facility.
The Series is also considering adding two more fall tournaments. The tour hopes to make an announcement before the US GC Classic.
