Kactus Creek Croquet Club Dominates Series Tour Club Competition

After tallying the final results from the Houston Invitational held in October, the Kactus Creek Croquet Club took the overall Club Series Tour Championship with 190 points, as the Kansas City Croquet Club finished second with 110 points.

Additionally, Kactus Creek took dominating wins in the Club Pro and Gold Division races as well, scoring 81 points in the Pro Division and 109 points in the Gold Division play. Kansas City followed that with 45 and 30 points, respectively. The KC Croquet Club did claim the Silver Division with 35 points, while Kactus Creek didn’t have any players participate at the Silver level. Only the Missouri Open and Houston Invitational offered Silver Division play for the 2025 Series Tour.

Overall, 12 clubs had players participate in the 2025 Tour, but only Kactus Creek CC and the Kansas City CC were eligible for the Club Series as official MCA member clubs. Ten clubs opted not to join the MCA as member clubs. The base fee for MCA Club Membership in 2025 was $50. In fact, both the Pro Division and Silver Races could have had different Club champions had those clubs opted to join the MCA. However, even if all participating clubs had joined, Kactus Creek would have still been champion overall and in the Gold race.

“It was disappointing that only the two legacy clubs supported the club race and MCA by joining,” says Dylan Goodwin, MCA President. “It was a lost marketing opportunity for those clubs and sort of minimized the effort and performance of the players that represented those clubs. I’ll have to do a better job in 2026 of presenting the benefits to potential clubs.”

Goodwin also indicated that the MCA plans to provide a commemorative prize in each division and the overall for the club champion. He says the MCA hopes to have those available at the 2026 AGM.
